Bluetooth SIG has partnered with The NewsMarket, the web-based video archiving and distribution platform to offer journalists and other program makers easy access to Bluetooth video, still images and other materials.

For more information or if you have any questions, please read on or contact us

Q. How do I preview video?

To preview any video clip, just click on the Streaming Windows Media file icon. You will only need Windows Media Player, version 6.4 or above, on your system.

If you don't have Windows Media Player, you can download the latest version here for free.

Q. How do I receive the broadcast-quality video?

We will only send video to bona-fide journalists and program-makers. You can order video and complete the registration form, but you will need to be authorized before you can receive video. The registration process is quick - we only ask you to provide your contact information and details of the company/media outlet you work for. Based on the information you provide, you may be contacted by a representative of The NewsMarket for additional information to validate your credentials.

Once you are validated, you can receive the video either via digital download, Beta SP tape or via the APTN Global Video Wire. Just select whichever delivery method you prefer.

Q. How does the digital download process work?

Most newsrooms nowadays are able to download video directly to an MPEG2 decoder.
If you choose digital delivery, we just need to know your IP address and the decoder system you use. If you are not sure, put us in touch with your network IT or broadcast operations people and we'll figure it out for you.

Q. How does Tape delivery work?

The NewsMarket typically delivers broadcast standard video in digital format, however, if your newsroom is not equipped to receive digital files, we can send you a Beta-SP tape in either NTSC or PAL format. In order to receive your tape, you need to either set your default delivery option to "Tape" by going to the "My Profile" section or choose "Tape" as your delivery option during step 2 of the checkout process.

Q. How does DVD delivery work?

The NewsMarket typically delivers broadcast standard video in digital format, however, if your newsroom is not equipped to receive digital files, we can send you a Data DVD in either NTSC or PAL format. In order to receive your DVD, you need to either set your default delivery option to "DVD" by going to the "My Profile" section or choose "DVD" as your delivery option during step 2 of the checkout process.

Q. What is APTN?

The NewsMarket has the ability to deliver video via the Associated Press Television News (APTN) Global Video Wire satellite network. If your newsroom subscribes to this service, you can select the "APTN" option either in the "My Profile" section or during step 2 of the checkout process. Someone from The NewsMarket will then contact you regarding the exact time of the APTN satellite feed.

Q. How do you deliver streaming video, audio and still images?

After checking out you can immediately download streaming video, audio and still images.

Q. Is there a cost?

No. All Bluetooth Press Room content you see in our video library is provided free of charge to registered journalists. We take care of putting the video into your hands, from start to finish.

Q. Are there copyright restrictions?

Video with rights and copyright attached will be clearly marked. Most allow unrestricted use.

Q. How long will it take me to receive the ordered video?

If you're not yet equipped for online delivery and do not subscribe to APTN, we can send the video you order via courier on a Beta-SP tape (both NTSC and PAL formats). Depending on your location, you will usually receive the tape within one to three business days.

If you have a deadline, you can let us know and we will try to get the video to you as soon as you need it.

Q. How do I get in contact with Bluetooth SIG?

We want to hear from you! Please contact us with any feedback, comments or special orders you might have.
