Release Date: 27 Apr 2016
The 22nd Annual São Paulo Marathon

(FILA Brazil ) – The FILA Running Team turned in top performances at last Sunday’s 22nd annual São Paulo International Marathon, taking home medals in the men, female, and wheelchair categories.

The women’s category was dominated by FILA’s team of elite Kenyan runners. Jane Seurey turned in the team’s top performance, finishing the marathon with a time of 2:38:37 and taking home second place in the women’s category. Seurey was closely followed by teammate Carolyne Komen, who finished with a time of 2:38:48, and earning a third place medal. On the men’s side, Kenyan athlete Robert Kipchumba took home fourth place with a time of 2:20:09. Brazilian wheelchair athlete Jaciel Paulino also took home a medal, finishing in third place with a time of 2:26:58.

This year, FILA Brazil was proud to be named the official apparel sponsor of the São Paulo International Marathon, which drew over 17,000 runners and participants. As part of their sponsorship, the brand hosted a special booth at the kit pick-up arena, where athletes could receive postural and kinematic evaluation tests from a team of postural specialists at the Força Dinâmica clinic. Results of these tests were sent to participants to help them improve their physical performance and posture during training and competitions. In addition, FILA was also the provider of the marathon’s official shoe – the new Kenya Racer 3. Weighing only 176g and utilizing the unique Energized Ribbons® technology, the shoe was developed, tested, and approved by the brand’s team of Kenyan runners.

Also at the marathon were blogger Acordei Disposta and YouTube star Programa Fôlego – two highly regarded opinion leaders in the print and online media sectors. The influencers lent their talent to the FILA team, participating in some of the athlete training, and providing social media coverage. News coverage by Globo Esporte, the biggest sports television channel in Brazil, was also on hand to provide marathon coverage.
