ANCHOR LEAD: For those who've made the resolution this year to eat healthier and get in shape… Kendra Johanssen says salad dressings and mayonnaise can help you achieve your health and wellness goals. The Association for Dressings and Sauces' Jacqueline Petty says there are plenty of healthy and flavorful meals that you can make using salad dressings or mayonnaise. CUT: (Petty) There's nothing more satisfying than enjoying a meal that's delicious and good for you too. Salad eaters tend to have a higher intake of essential nutrients like Vitamin C and E and folic acid. The healthy oils in salad dressings have also been shown to help the body better absorb these nutrients. SCRIPT: Petty says since mayonnaise is made with healthy oils and contains Omega 3 fatty acids it is also part of a well-balanced diet. CUT: (Petty) There are many different ways to use mayonnaise or salad dressings to enhance the flavor of your meals. Mayonnaise adds terrific flavor to deviled eggs, sandwiches and deli salads.
