Bartholomew and Pull grabbed their first victory in Race 1 at Dubai in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East

Release Date: 16 Feb 2018
5 Bartholomew Pull
Jack Bartholomew, member of the Lamborghini Young Drivers Program, has grabbed his first victory in the  Lamborghini Super Trofeo. Together with his teammate James Pull, new entry of the team FFF Racing by ACM, the two young Englishmen have won Race 1 at the Dubai Autodrome, which is currently hosting the second round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East. Behind them by just a few tenths was the American driver Taylor Proto coming from the Super Trofeo North America. The podium was completed by one of the most surprising crews of the Middle East Series, the one composed by the seventeen-year-old  Giacomo Altoé and Glauco Solieri (Antonelli Motorsport), who also took the first place in the Pro-Am category, besides scoring the third place overall.
After starting from the pole position, the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo #5 of FFF Racing Team by ACM held the lead of the race from the first corner, with Jack Bartholomew at the wheel. The second position was instead occupied by one of the favorite crews (#11 Konrad Motorsport, Axcil Jefferies and Carrie Schreiner), who immediately had to deal with a contact with car #55 of Taylor Proto and slipped to eleventh position. From that moment on, the member of the Young Drivers Program, Axcil Jefferies, started his comeback by setting fast laps (he also scored the best lap time with 1’37”629) and grabbed the third position just before the driver change at mid-race, while Jack Bartholomew was still in the lead followed by Taylor Proto.
After the driver change, while in the first two positions the situation remained unchanged until the checkered flag, the fight for the third place was more heated than ever. Carrie Schreiner, who had taken over the seat from Axcil Jefferies on car #11 of Konrad Motorsport, had to give up the third position first to Christopher Zoechling (#77 GDL Racing) and then to the seventeen-year-old Italian Giacomo Altoé (#78 Antonelli Motorsport). The latter managed to anticipate Zoechling’s moves and to launch a winning attack during the last lap, thus conquering, together with his teammate Glauco Solieri, the third place overall and the first in the Pro-Am category.
As it happened during the first round at Yas Marina, the AM category was instead dominated by the American Taylor Proto, who took another class victory and an outstanding second place overall. Behind him, in second class position, finished  Andrzej Lewandowski of the team GT3 Poland ahead of the pair Mikrut/Opiola  of the same Polish team. In the Lamborghini Cup, instead,  Mark Proto finished ahead of  John Iossifidis.
