Martorell, 15/12/2017. – SEAT is going to hire 150 workers for the Martorell factory. The employees, who are now working with a contract from a temporary employment agency, will be signing an open-ended contract with SEAT.

Hiring these workers will especially benefit the production line of the Ibiza and Arona, both built on the Volkswagen Group’s new MQB A0 platform, which SEAT debuted in 2017. In order to respond to the increase in production, SEAT is also going to schedule additional weekend shifts throughout 2018.

SEAT Vice-President for Human Resources Xavier Ros highlighted that “the upward trend in sales and future projects are translating into more job creation. Hiring 150 new professionals will enable us to successfully meet the production forecast for next year. At the same time, we continue to generate employment in order to move forward in key areas for the future of SEAT. Our close collaboration with the majority trade unions in recent years has allowed us to establish a stable, flexible labour framework which has a positive impact on the workforce and on the company itself”.

The Martorell factory produces the highest vehicle output in Spain, with roughly 450,000 units in 2016. Since 2009, production has increased by 50% and four models are currently being made: Ibiza and Arona (Line 1), Leon (Line 2) and Audi Q3 (Line 3). Lines 1 and 3 have three production shifts, while there are two shifts on Line 2.
