Paradise papers − Rule of law in Malta and Poland − Left and right populism

At the European Parliament’s latest plenary, MEPs debated the Paradise Papers, media revelations about large-scale tax avoidance that may be depriving public budgets of billions of euro in revenue.
Rule of law and the independence of the judiciary dominated discussions about Poland.

They also paid tribute to the murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. The EPP Group called for an independent and international investigation into her murder and for an EU-Malta rule of law dialogue.
