ANCHOR LEAD: Back-to-school season can be overwhelming for parents, as well as kids. But the right technology can help your whole family gear up for the first day of school and beyond. Brian Osuch has more. (:60) SCRIPT: Technology Now, I'm Brian Osuch. (SFX: school bell) It's the time of year when moms and dads across the country are getting their kids ready for reading, writing and… technology. A recent CEA study found that 47 percent of back-to-school shoppers will purchase tech. Laura Hubbard is with the Consumer Electronics Association and says there are some must have tech items your kids need before heading back-to-school. CUT: (Hubbard) The Hisense Chromebook is a great portable computing solution for parents and students. It's just $149, it has 8.5 hours of battery life and boots up in just 10 seconds. SCRIPT: Hubbard recommends tech items that can benefit the entire family. CUT: (Hubbard) If you're a parent like me, during the school season you're in your car a lot. Think about getting the Kenwood Multimedia Receiver that allows you to have Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. It brings all the functionalities of your smartphone into the front dash of your car. SCRIPT: For more information, go to CE.org. That's Technology Now from the CEA. I'm Brian Osuch.
