SCRIPT: Technology Now, I'm Brian Osuch. The Consumer Electronics Association or CEA is out with their 2014 holiday purchase patterns study. And this holiday season, consumers will be gobbling up electronics in record numbers – and if all goes as predicted… spending more than 33-billion dollars. Jim Barry, media spokesperson for the CEA.
CUT: (Barry) Tablet computers are at the top again. They've been at the top for the last several years. Laptop computers are number two on the list. Laptops are still a needed product for students certainly, but they can do a lot more than a tablet can do. TV's are number three on the list, and a new generation of 4K Ultra High Definition Televisions – they're already in the stores. Smartphones are number four on the list again this year. And then video game consoles – the PlayStation 4 from Sony, or the Xbox One from Microsoft, the Wii U from Nintendo… these are going strong.
