Tech Spending to Reach Record Levels This Holiday Season!

According to the non-profit, Consumer Electronic Association's (CEA) 21st Annual Holiday Study, the 2014 holiday season will see the highest levels of spending on consumer electronics (CE) in the last 20 years with total tech spending predicted to reach a record $33.76 billion.

CEA's tech expert and Digital Answer Man, Jim Barry, reveals the tech products that will top consumers' holiday tech wish list:

  2. Notebook/Laptop computers
  3. TVs
  4. Smartphones
  5. Videogame consoles
Top Tech Consumers Plan to Give
With 63 percent of U.S. adults planning to give the gift of technology this year, the CEA expects headphones and earbuds to be the most popular CE devices consumers give during the 2014 holiday season. Tablets also will be popular this year, followed by notebook/laptop computers, TVs and smartphones.For the first time, emerging tech products have shown up in the study with one in 10 consumers likely to purchase them as a gifts this holiday season.
