CUT: (Elio) The vehicle sits two occupants front to back and that's the secret to the gas mileage. At highway speeds, most of your fuel goes to moving air. We're half as wide, move half as much air, we get double the mileage.
SCRIPT: The Elio changes the way people view transportation.
CUT: (Elio) So Americans buy big vehicles for a reason. You can't haul plywood in a Prius, you can't tow a boat with a Versa. And then we get stuck driving them back and forth to work all by ourselves. So Elio is personal transportation. It's an "And" vehicle.
SCRIPT: And this vehicle is growing in popularity.
CUT: (Elio) We have over 48,000 reservations, which means over 325-million dollars of product reserved. I don't think there's ever been a vehicle with that kind of traction a year ahead of production.
