In an important step towards Energy Union, the European Parliament approves legislation that requires Member States to report energy agreements with third parties to the European Commission for review. The Commission would check to make sure such agreements comply with EU energy policy and rules. EPP Group shadow rapporteur Vladimir Urutchev says it´s aimed at ensuring more secure, greener and more competitive energy sources for European consumers and businesses.
