FILA and Staple’s Capsule Collection Drops Labor Day Weekend
(FILA North America) --- Labor Day weekend is often considered to be the unofficial end of the Summer. For FILA and Staple, the heat is still on its way with the two brands coming together for a capsule collection available this Friday at City Gear and DTLR, along with FILA.com and StaplePigeon.com. The capsule sees FILA, a brand that composes the elements of sport and style, aligning with the NYC-based Staple brand. Taking the classic fit and styles of FILA and applying Staple’s signature graphic eye, the collection is a perfect marriage of both style and streetwear. This collaboration was a unique opportunity to pay homage to FILA’s heritage while placing a focus on the bold city that birthed not only Staple but also the embraced culture of Hip-Hop.
On the apparel side, the collection includes velour sweat suits, windbreakers, polos, and graphic tees, which will be available with multicolored striping. The hooded tees and scalloped hems combine a penchant for sportswear and streetwear. Staple’s iconic pigeon logo is incorporated into the FILA logo on each item. FILA's co-branded patches which identify both brands have been used for decades specifically for pinnacle collaborations and collections. Striping, fabric piecing, and various printing techniques are some of the methods used to create these collaborative garments.
The footwear component of the capsule collection features the F-13, and Original Fitness with select colorways available at City Gear, DTLR, and FILA.com respectively. The Original Tennis is also available but will be limited to a staplepigeon.com exclusive. Leading the footwear piece is the F-13 and Original Fitness which carry the same will be available in three colorways including grey, white/gum, black, while the F-13 receives an additional signature pigeon pink colorway. Both styles carry a full grain leather and suede combo upper with the two-tone FILA flag bearing the same combination of materials. Other customized product details that the two silhouettes share are dual branded tongue patch, sock liner, printed footbed. Additional product highlights include dual branded tongue embroidered patch, two lace sets (body color and grey), and branded lace tips.
