The FILA Museum Teams Up with A Champion for a Friend Initiative

Un Campione per Amico conference in Rome

(FILA Italy) – This spring, ten Italian cities will transform into outdoor gyms to promote the benefits of living a healthy and active lifestyle.

For the third consecutive year, the Fondazione FILA Museum will serve as a technical sponsor of the 2016 “Champion for a Friend" (Un Campione per Amico) initiative. Led by champion athletes, Adriano Panatta, Andrea Lucchetta, Francesco Graziani, and Jury Chechi, this unique collaboration aims to educate children and young teens on what it means to truly live a sport and how a respect for diversity, unwavering determination and a desire to achieve, and sharing in successes and failures can help them live healthy, holistic lives.

“We are very proud to be a part of this initiative for the third year in a row,” said Marco Negri, Vice President of the Fondazione FILA Museum. “The testimonials from our four champion athletes bring a very inspiring and important message to kids all around Italy. The FILA brand has a long history with each of these players and we are thrilled to stand by them as they lead a new generation of athletes to the playing field. They are bringing the FILA name back to the heart of sport, in every sense of the word.”

The Champion for Friend initiative will be making stops in a total of 10 towns around Italy over the next month. Events are currently scheduled to take place in Benevento (5 April), Foggia (7 April), Civitanova Marche (12 April), Rimini (14 April), Pistoia (3 May), Monza (10 May), Novara (12 May), Verona (18 May), and Trento (20 May). The initiative will conclude in Sanremo on 24 May.
