2017 Buick LaCrosse: At the 2015 L.A. Auto Show
LOS ANGELES - The 2017 Buick LaCrosse features a grille design that puts a new face on the brand, including a new, three-color tri-shield insignia set on a wing-shaped element. Contrasting with darkened waterfall grille bars and spanning the width of the opening, it connects the grille and headlamps, and emphasizes LaCrosse’s new sculptural surfacing.
Introduced on Avenir, the face is a modern interpretation of a design first introduced on the landmark 1954 Wildcat II concept, which shattered expectations of what a Buick was supposed to be. Today, it represents a break from convention and progressiveness in the new Buick models. Buick will introduce this new Avenir-inspired face on every model by 2018.
The design is framed on an all-new chassis created with lightweight, high-strength materials that is stronger yet up to 300pounds lighter and serves as the foundation to further enhance efficiency and ride and handling.
The LaCrosse’s lower, wider stance and overall proportion visually convey a sportier persona and dynamic driving experience. (The new LaCrosse is 1.6 inches lower, .6 inches longer and .1 inches wider.)
A technologically advanced 3.6L V-6 engine paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission provides 305 horsepower and improved efficiency through stop/start and cylinder deactivation.
