SCRIPT: Zero to Sixty, I'm Brian Osuch. A new advanced fleet of electric vehicles is arriving at dealerships in California. GM's, Shad Balch says this "California Version" of the Chevrolet Volt is eligible for the "green" Clean Air Vehicle decal – which allows motorists to breeze past typical gas-powered vehicles in the car pool lane even if they're in the car by themselves.
CUT: (Balch) The 2012 Chevy Volt with the new low emissions package is the first extended range electric vehicle of it's kind to qualify for the sticker program since it started in January.
SCRIPT: Balch has been working closely with federal, state and local officials to get cities plug-in ready. And says California consumers who buy the latest Chevy Volt can apply for one of the forty-thousand "green" carpool lane stickers. Shad, how do you know if your vehicle is eligible for one of these decals?
CUT: (Balch) If your 2012 Volt has the low emissions package, then you qualify… it's that simple.
SCRIPT: For more on the California "green" carpool pool stickers log onto DMV-dot-CA-dot-gov, and to find out when a Chevy Volt is coming to a dealership near you, log onto Chevrolet-dot-com. That's Zero to Sixty from GM.
