ANCHOR LEAD: This weekend we’re celebrating the woman who has tried her best to help provide smooth sailing throughout the years… even in the roughest terrain. Brian Osuch has one idea that will let her strut her stuff while hitting the road. (:60) SCRIPT: Zero to Sixty, I’m Brian Osuch. For many, moms are the motor or driving force behind the family. And often, her car doubles as a “mom taxi” shuttling kids to and from school, baseball practice and dance rehearsals… many times leaving a mess behind. General Motors’, James Bell says that’s why this weekend is the perfect time to show mom your appreciation. CUT: (Bell) Surprise her with a car wash this Mother’s Day. Start by cleaning the inside of her car, remove any toys, books or DVDs. This also includes smelly soccer cleats or week-old French fries. Vacuum the car’s interior, and give the exterior a good washing - so it shines on mom’s special day. SCRIPT: Bell says there are a few other inexpensive ways to improve mom’s ride. CUT: (Bell) Change her windshield wipers and get her car’s filters replaced… this can help prevent problems she didn’t’ even know she had. Then add some finishing touches… place an air-freshener inside, make her a driving playlist and fill up her gas tank! You can even leave a card on the front seat with a Jiffy Lube gift certificate inside for future maintenance. SCRIPT: For more, log onto GM-dot-com. That’s Zero to Sixty from GM.
