ANCHOR LEAD: Truck owners are unique! On the weekends, it’s shuffling the family to and fro. And on weekdays, well, many of them use their trucks like an office on wheels. So wouldn’t it be nice if there was a truck already designed that way? T.K. Anderson has more. (: 58) SCRIPT: Zero to Sixty, I’m T.K. Anderson. Gearheads rejoice! After releasing a teaser photo of the headlamp earlier this year, General Motors is set to unveil the highly anticipated, totally redesigned, full-size 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks at the Detroit Auto Show next month. James Bell is GM’s Head of Consumer Affairs. James, what makes these trucks so special? CUT: (Bell) It’s the refinement that I really see in these vehicles. There’s attention to detail that you don’t see in other pick-up trucks. It’s just really a vehicle that somebody can be proud of, not only because it looks great on the outside, on the inside, but it will deliver great fuel efficiency as well. SCRIPT: James, what are some of the features? CUT: (Bell) First off it’s a beautiful place to sit. If you’re driving a vehicle like this for work or play, you’re probably going to be sitting here a lot. You got USB ports, got 12-volt charging stations. You even have a 110 outlet in case you want to plug in your laptop. You got room for hanging file folders. A lot of people use these as rolling offices. SCRIPT: See GM’s “next generation” of trucks at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show this January. That’s Zero to Sixty from GM.
