ANCHOR LEAD: With the opening of a state-of-the art active safety-testing facility, General Motors reaffirms its commitment towards a zero crashes mission. Brian Osuch has the story. GM announced the opening of it’s new, $14-million Active Safety Test Area at the Milford Proving Ground in Michigan: 52-acre dedicated global facility to develop and test some of the industry’s most advanced crash-avoidance technologies for GM’s products around the world.
