ANCHOR LEAD: May is U.S. Military Appreciation Month, and Brian Osuch is finding out how one of America’s most recognizable companies is saluting our country’s finest. (:60) SCRIPT: Zero to Sixty, I’m Brian Osuch. GM’s history with the U.S. military stretches as far back as 1917 when the majority of their truck production was directed toward World War One manufacturing. And their support continues, GM’s James Bell. CUT: (Bell) The men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces give so much for so many of us. So during Military Appreciation Month, Chevrolet will provide a free “Honor & Valor” badge to all eligible vehicles purchased through our military discount program. SCRIPT: Chevrolet has also been saluting our country’s bravest in other ways over the years. CUT: (Bell) Chevrolet has supported the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans in numerous marathons, and this year Chevy helped Michigan Technological University students create 10 newly-engineered hand-cycles, which will be donated in summer 2013. And now, for every eligible Chevrolet vehicle sold in May, GM will donate one-hundred dollars to the Achilles’ Freedom team for Wounded Veterans.
