Kicking Trash Day to the Curb
One American car maker is well on its way to knocking that number down and eliminating trash day completely by celebrating the opening of their 100th landfill-free facility. That means that assembly plants like the General Motors Transmission Plant in Toledo, Ohio and the truck plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana, each with hundreds of employees, sends less trash to a landfill than an average American does.
With the opening of GM's 100th plant producing limited waste, the automotive industry is turning around the preconceived notion that car makers cause harm to the planet.
