Every year, the Motor City throws its annual international auto show and 5,000 Journalists from 60 countries come to pour over 50 plus new vehicle reveals and be on hand for the announcement of the prestigious North American Car and Truck of the Year Awards.
This year the hometown team from Chevrolet swept both awards. The Truck of the Year went to the 2014 Silverado which won out over the new Acura MDX and Jeep Cherokee. And Corvette, the star of last year's Detroit Auto Show, beat out the Mazda 3 and the Cadillac CTS for Car of the Year. According to Scott Oldham of Edmunds.com, this award is MORE than just prestige. It is actually a very useful buying guide for car shoppers in America.
At this year's show there was no shortage of exciting new cars including the newest addition to the Corvette line up - 2015 Corvette Z06 and 2015 Corvette C7R, the ATS Coupe from Cadillac and all-new 2015 GMC Canyon.
