New GM Used Car Online Service Now Open for Business
DETROIT – General Motors’ recently announced service for online shoppers who are looking for a used Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicle, the Factory Pre-Owned Collection (http://www.factorypreownedcollection.com), is now live.
GM is the first automaker to provide U.S. consumers with online access to an exclusive national inventory of low-mileage former GM company-owned, off-lease and daily rental vehicles in one easy-to-navigate place.
This new service features a nationwide inventory of more than 40,000 vehicles, all with fewer than 37,000 miles, and including an extended factory bumper-to-bumper limited warranty.
“Our goal is to earn customers for life and we know many of them want to use the internet to save time and make the process of buying a used vehicle simpler and easier,” said Steve Hill, vice president, GM U.S. Sales and Service. “The Factory Pre-Owned Collection extends our Shop-Click-Drive service and gives our dealers another way to attract new customers to their dealerships.”
More than 1,000 GM dealers from across the U.S. have already agreed to participate in the Factory Pre-Owned Collection since GM Chairman and CEO Mary Barra announced the program on Jan. 13.
“Many of our customers who are shopping for a used car have told us they want to complete more of the process online,” said Jerry Morgan, executive manager of Jack Wilson Chevrolet and Jack Wilson Buick GMC in Saint Augustine, Florida. “We are excited to be among the first dealerships to participate in the Factory Pre-Owned Collection.”
Online shoppers who use the Factory Pre-Owned Collection will follow three simple steps:
Browse the inventory to find the vehicle of their choice.
Choose a participating GM dealer and reserve their vehicle using the Shop-Click-Drive experience.
Finalize their purchase and take delivery of their vehicle from their selected dealer.
Consumers can easily compare suggested prices on the Factory Pre-Owned Collection site to what others in their area have paid using the Kelley Blue Book® Fair Market Range, and can get a Carfax Vehicle History Report on the vehicles displayed on the site.
The service also features a three-day/150-mile exchange program, a three-month trial of the OnStar Guidance Plan and the Sirius/XM Satellite Radio All-Access Package and more. Vehicles also come with roadside assistance and courtesy transportation during the warranty period.
