According to Edmunds.com, the sales of manual transmission cars are up – way up – double the amount from 5 years ago. In fact, they were up 6.5 percent in just the first quarter of 2012.
Factors such as fuel economy and price have made stick-shifts more attractive, and new hill start assist technology (that prevents you from rolling on a hill while you're releasing the clutch), relieves drivers' fears of backing into someone!
As part of baseball's All-Star weekend, Chevrolet brought some potential buyers out for a lesson with the pros at the Celebrity "Stay Clutch" Driving School. The idea is to get through an obstacle course -- driving a stick! The result? Fun video of beginners trying not to "pop the clutch!"
