Taiwanese company turns waste bottles into trees

Release Date: 09 Nov 2012
: Faced with a growing mountain of unrecyclable cosmetic bottles, the O'Right Cosmetic Group developed a bottle made of corn starch which is 100% biodegradable and has tree seeds placed within the packaging. This means that once the bottle biodegrades it allows the seeds within it to germinate into a new tree. The idea is to make their business 100% carbon neutral by combining this with other initiatives such as only using recycled paper and soya based ink on all their packaging. Footage includes soundbites with the company founder and general manufacturing shots.
