Brexit, Sakharov Prize, EU investment, Kebab ban defeated

Release Date: 14 Dec 2017
At its final plenary of 2017, the European Parliament approved a Resolution on the Brexit talks, backing the move to phase 2 but insisting on citizens’ rights and Irish border arrangements. Parliament awarded its Sakharov Prize to the Venezuelan Opposition as a message to the regime to end its crackdown. MEPs approved extending and expanding the so-called Juncker Plan for investment in job creation. And a bid to ban phosphates in frozen kebab meat failed, saving thousands of businesses and jobs across Europe.
