Kim Clijsters Elected for Induction into the Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2017
(FILA Global) -  Kim Clijsters, former world number #1 women’s player and FILA sponsored athlete, has been announced as a member of the 2017 Tennis Hall of Fame class, the highest honor in the sport.

Clijsters wore FILA throughout her impressive career, including her four Grand Slam singles victories. She won the US Open title in 2005, 2009 and 2010, and she also won the 2011 Australian Open. Kim secured 41 singles titles in all, including 7 WTA Tour Tier I / Premier Mandatory and Premier 5 titles. FILA continues its relationship with Kim today, as an official supplier to the Kim Clijsters Academy in Belgium.

The Hall of Fame Class of 2017 was officially announced on Tuesday, January 24, during a special ceremony at Rod Laver Arena ahead of the evening session of the Australian Open. More than 20 Hall of Famers were on-hand to celebrate the incoming 2017 class.

Clijsters will officially be inducted on July 22, during Rolex Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The International Tennis Hall of Fame is located in Newport, Rhode Island.
