ANCHOR LEAD: With the increased use of technology by children, it's becoming especially important for parents to remember to use more than computers to develop their child's creative side at an early age. Chanel Caraway has the story. (:60) SCRIPT: Newsbreak, I'm Chanel Caraway. Starting young with any form of art can help children develop their motor skills, language, decision making and even improve academic performance. Illustrator Julie Olson says it's important for parents to get involved… CUT: (Olson) Parents can help nurture their children's creative side by providing the materials and the space they need to create, take trips to the museum as a family and encourage art time outside the classroom, and maybe taking a walk to the park and commenting on the different shapes and colors they see all around. SCRIPT: Olson tells us about a new contest that would allow parents to help with their kid's dreams. CUT: (Olson) Playtex is trying to capture those hopes and dreams through the Beginning's Imagine Program. This is an opportunity to win a custom illustration of their child, and a story of what they can become, from me. And all entries will be eligible for a grand prize drawing of $5,000 dollars scholarship. SCRIPT: For more, visit Imagined-dot-Playtexbaby-dot-com. That's Newsbreak from Playtex. I'm Chanel Caraway.
