Protecting the rights of victims of terrorism in the EU

Release Date: 22 Mar 2018
The European Parliament’s Special Committee on Terrorism held a public hearing on the rights of victims of terrorism.

In 2016 and 2017, terrorism claimed the lives of 203 people in the European Union. Those attending the hearing stood in silence for one minute in memory of all victims of terrorism.

The EPP Group is calling for an EU law that deals specifically with victims of terrorism and a European coordination centre to help victims.
