ANCHOR LEAD: What is a Saturday or Sunday without brunch? And it can all be done from the comfort of your own home. Brian Osuch has the dish. (:60)
SCRIPT: Lifestyles, I'm (Announcer name). Hosting a brunch is a fun and delicious way to share a meal with family and friends. And Chef, Anthony Rose says adding almonds provides a healthy crunch to any dish.
CUT: (Rose) When I think about brunch, I like to start the day off with kind of nice lighter meal. So even if I'm going bacon and eggs, I kind of want to turn that into a salad. So, if I've got the greens and the poached eggs and even the fried eggs or some sausage on it, some crispy delicious almonds on top – it really makes sense. The lighter the better. That way you can have a couple drinks.
SCRIPT: And beside the mimosas… guests will appreciate a delicious dessert. Pastry Chef, Jenny McCoy says using a versatile ingredient like almonds makes any dessert delicious and party-perfect.
CUT: (McCoy) What I've created is an almond cake, almond pasty cream, fresh raspberries, sliced almonds as well. And you can build the trifle in a basic trifle dish, with the cake layers, the toasted almond pastry cream… soak the cake with some amaretto and build away.
