audio package, .mp3
ANCHOR LEAD: Due to an unseasonably warm winter, millions of Americans with seasonal allergies welcomed back their itchy, runny noses earlier than expected. But one popular tissue brand that's been cushioning sore noses for years shares some tips to help us get some relief this allergy season. Brian Osuch has more. (:60) SCRIPT: Lifestyles, I'm Brian Osuch. According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America or the AAFA, 40 million Americans suffer from seasonal allergies. The AAFA and Puffs Facial Tissues have partnered together to help educate people with allergies about how they can combat the harsh symptoms that often keep them indoors. Dr. Linda Dahl is an Allergy and Asthma Expert. Linda, what can we do to lessen allergy symptoms? CUT: (Dr. Dahl) First identify what it is that you are allergic to, and avoid it because prevention is key. If you're going outside change your clothes, and change your shoes. Take your shoes off before you come inside. And use natural treatments like sinus rinses. And wash your hands often. SCRIPT: Are there areas in the country that affect allergy sufferers more than others? CUT: (Dr. Dahl) This year the top of the list is Knoxville, Tennessee, followed by McAllen, Texas and Louisville, Kentucky. SCRIPT: Throughout May, consumers can log on to Puffs' Facebook page, facebook-dot-com-slash-Puffs for helpful tips and facts. That's Lifestyles from P&G. I'm Brian Osuch.
