OSCAR FLORES (COORDINATOR OF THE CRER) SAYING (FRENCH SPEECH): "Recognition rates are very low. OSCAR FLORES (COORDINATOR OF THE CRER) SAYING (FRENCH SPEECH): "I think the harmonisation of European asylum policies is positive if it's implemented with respect for international agreements." FRANCE, STRASBOURG (JUNE 12, 2013) (SOCIALISTS AND DEMOCRATS, EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT - ACCESS ALL) 13. CUTAWAY: VARIOUS OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT IN STRASBOURG (EXTERIOR) 14. CUTAWAY: VARIOUS OF THE VOTE IN THE PLENARY FRANCE, STRASBOURG (JUNE 11, 2013) (SOCIALISTS AND DEMOCRATS, EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT - ACCESS ALL) 15. SYLVIE GUILLAUME (S&D MEP, FR) SAYING (FRENCH SPEECH): I can give a couple of examples on the procedure's text of concrete advances that have been discussed and negotiated. On the question of professional training for people responsible for interviewing asylum seekers, the curriculum is now fixed for everyone. Another step is identifying asylum seekers with specific needs, eg LGBT people who could be reluctant to express their sexual orientation, or unaccompanied minors. On the question of the length of the process, a procedure now has to be concluded within six months. This is important for both Members States and asylum seekers. These concrete achievements improve the rights of asylum seekers. The directive on procedure is part of the so-called 'Asylum package' that brings together four texts to be voted this week. 16. CUTAWAY: CLOSE-UP ON SYLVIE GUILLAUME'S EYES 17. SYLVIE GUILLAUME (S&D MEP, FR) SAYING (FRENCH SPEECH): The directive on procedure is part of the so-called 'Asylum package' that brings together four texts to be voted this week. The important question now is how the Member States will implement these texts as national law. European laws include 'room for manoeuvre' and the EP will be watchful to make sure the implementation will benefit asylum seekers. CUTAWAY: CLOSE-UP ON SYLVIE GUILLAUME'S EYES
