Reaching for the Stars

.mp3 audio package
ANCHOR LEAD: Amy Purdy heated up the dance floor in the popular Dancing with the Stars… but that's just one of her many accomplishments. Brian Osuch finds out what motivates Amy and how she is inspiring others to reach for the stars. (:60) SCRIPT: Lifestyles, I'm Brian Osuch. Amy Purdy battled Bacterial Meningitis and had both legs amputated when she was just 19. But she got back into her passion – snowboarding – and won a bronze medal for Team USA at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games. Just weeks later, she danced her way into 2nd place on Dancing with the Stars. Her competitive drive and creativity has helped her achieve so much and inspire others along the way. CUT: (Purdy) My goal has always been to just do the things that inspire me. And I do feel like inspiration is contagious, so when you see somebody following their passions then you are inspired to do the same. SCRIPT: Amy hasn't let physical limitations define her. Now she's helping others set a course for success. CUT: (Purdy) I recently got the opportunity to team up with The Hartford. We did a campaign called the "What Defines You" campaign focusing on ability. Through this campaign, The Hartford was able to donate $100,000 dollars to the Paralympic committee, so we can help inspire future paralympians to follow their dreams. SCRIPT: For more visit WhatDefinesYou.com. That's Lifestyles from The Hartford.
