A US President, a Bollywood Superstar and a Global CEO Survey: the Countdown to Davos Begins...

The global jamboree that is the World Economic Forum (WEF) will soon get underway in the snowy Swiss town of Davos. It promises to be especially newsworthy this year with a highly anticipated appearance from US President Donald Trump who will deliver a keynote address on 26 January at the close of the meeting and just over a year on since his inauguration. Trump will be the first sitting US president to visit the annual summit since Bill Clinton attended in 2000.

This year's forum, which will be chaired by an all-women panel for the first time in its history, boasts the highest woman participation rate since its inception, at over 21 percent, as well as a record number of leaders from G7 economies. There will also be celebrity appearances by Hollywood actor Cate Blanchett, singer Elton John and Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan who will be given the Annual Crystal award which recognizes exceptional artistic achievement.  Another important key speaker to watch out for is Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who will deliver the opening address on 23 January.

On the eve of the opening of the Forum, PwC will release the findings of its Global CEO Survey. It will be introduced by PwC's Global Chairman Bob Moritz live on January 22 (Monday) at 6:30pm (CET). He will reveal the findings of the global survey which has been informed by the views of thousands of CEOs from around the globe. These business leaders have provided insight on industry trends, technology, economic confidence and more.
