ANCHOR LEAD: What constitutes "hot" for an industry? Well, this professor and author decided to find out and has released a report that reveals what's hot and what's not in today's global economy. Brian Osuch has more. (:60) SCRIPT: Newsbreak, I'm Brian Osuch. Philip Auerswald is the author of "The Coming Prosperity: How Entrepreneurs are Transforming the Global Economy", and also author of a newly released report sponsored by Zurich Insurance that highlights the hottest growth sectors for the next decade. Philip, what's been the hottest industry over the past few decades and where are we heading? CUT: (Auerswald) IT, the Internet revolution. That's number one, that's really been the key to what's been changing the economy for the last 20 years. Looking ahead, it's back to the future. Manufacturing and agriculture are really going to be at the center of the American economy in a way that they haven't been as much in the last 20 years. And the IT revolution is going to just keep on moving. SCRIPT: What risk factors are these industries facing? CUT: (Auerswald) The biggest risk factor across every industry is going to be resistance to change. We've got to be ready to move with all that's coming up, the tremendous opportunities, but also really the disruptions that they're going to present.
