Desperately seeking video

With video being the Web's fastest growing medium, the race to integrate more video into their online offering continues to escalate amongst all types of media organizations:

  • Bloomberg, which has been on an aggressive expansion of its multimedia operations since it hired former NBC President and COO Andy Lack last summer, is actively looking for more corporate video content to offer its community of financial and investment professionals. We're delighted to let you know that The NewsMarket now has dedicated distribution to the Bloomberg Professional service. All relevant video issued by clients via The NewsMarket is fed automatically to Bloomberg terminals globally - reaching nearly 300,000 professionals including: Wall Street & corporate executives, traders, bankers, government officers and the media at large.
  • Thomson Reuters, another major player, last week announced a groundbreaking new video-on-demand service that aims to become a one-stop information source. Video will be used as a key medium to provide it's more than 550,000 subscribers corporate information. The NewsMarket is one of the few content providers working with Thomson Reuters in the Beta phase which means that if your video is on The NewsMarket, it'll be accessible to Thomson Reuters subscribers, too.

  • The hunt for video isn't confined to just the major news organizations. Trade media such as AutoExpress, the leading automotive publication in the UK, integrated live video provided by The NewsMarket as a special event stream from the Geneva Motor Show to 900,000 unique users. AutoExpress increased its viewership and advertising revenue and our clients get their video directly in front of their key audiences - potential car buyers. We expect to see this sort of live video integration become a trend quickly as media properties experiment with providing different types of video experiences to their audience.
