Shanghai, October 19, 2016

CNH Industrial N.V. (NYSE: CNHI /MI: CNHI) has launched a TechPro² Technical Professional Program dedicated to agricultural equipment and engines in Yanji, China’s Jilin Province. This program expands the CNH Industrial and TechPro² training offer in China. First launched globally in 2008, the TechPro² project was first introduced in China in 2014 with a program dedicated to commercial vehicles with the Iveco brand in Zhejiang Province.

The inaugural ceremony of the new program was held yesterday at the Yanji International Technical School, where the course will be delivered. Local authorities, Yizhong Education representatives, officials from the Yanji International Technical School, students and professors and, on behalf of CNH Industrial, Luca Mainardi, Head of Agriculture & Construction operations in China, attended the event.

“Since its launch in 2008, TechPro² has created a winning relationship model between educational institutions and businesses, training specialists who are not only workshop technicians, but also mature professionals. We are confident that this new program in Yanji will provide a valuable experience for the students in the agricultural equipment and powertrain fields,” said Luca Mainardi at the opening event.

The mission of the TechPro² project is to support local communities by providing young people with advanced technical training. In China, this program will qualify the students for professional placements in the agricultural and powertrain sectors.

CNH Industrial will provide the Yanji International Technical School with expertise, financial and material support, including agricultural equipment, engines and key components. In addition, it will train the school’s instructors, transferring the know-how of its specialist staff.

The first course will train about 40 students and teachers over the next three years, offering the students internship opportunities within the dealer networks of CNH Industrial’s brands, where they will gain valuable on-the-job experience. Upon completion graduates will receive the Vocational Education Secondary School Diploma.

CNH Industrial in China
CNH Industrial has a long history in China which dates back to the beginning of the 20th century, when the first tractors were imported to the Heilongjiang Province.
The offering of its two agricultural brands, Case IH and New Holland Agriculture, covers the entire agricultural production cycle - from planters and sprayers to tractors, balers and combine harvesters – and includes specialized equipment such as cotton pickers and sugarcane harvesters.

In China, Case IH is a market leader in a variety of segments such as large tractors, mid and large rotary combines, sugarcane harvesters and self-propelled sprayers, while New Holland Agriculture is a market leader in the tractors and hay and forage equipment markets.

CNH Industrial’s manufacturing footprint in China currently counts three plants operating in the agricultural sector: the Harbin industrial complex for tractors, combine harvesters balers and planters, and two assembly plants: in Urumqi for cotton pickers and in Foshan for sugarcane harvesters. Both its agricultural brands operate a Research & Development centre in Shanghai and Harbin.

In the powertrain sector, CNH Industrial is present with the FPT Industrial brand and its joint venture SFH. It also operates two Research & Development centers, in Chongqing and Shanghai.

FPT Industrial offers engines from 2.2 to 20 liters with a power range from 31 to 740 kW for on-road vehicles, agricultural and construction equipment, marine and power generation applications, as well as transmissions and axles for on- and off-road applications.

SFH manufactures light, medium, heavy vehicle engines for on- and off-road applications as well as power generation at its plant in Chongqing.

The Iveco brand was the first foreign commercial vehicle manufacturer to enter the Chinese market in the 1980s. Today it holds a leading position among foreign players in the country. CNH Industrial has 2 joint ventures in China: NAVECO for the light line, which runs two manufacturing operations in Nanjing, and SIH for the heavy line, which has manufacturing plants in Chongqing and Shuangqiao. Both joint ventures operate Research & Development centers on their sites.
