Ensuring that consumers have the same quality of product across the EU

Release Date: 12 Jul 2018
Last year it emerged that there were differences in the quality of food and non-food products being sold in different EU countries - between, for example, Bulgaria and Germany.
The European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee has approved a report looking to find solutions to this dual quality problem.
The solutions include a new methodology to help labs compare the quality of food products, a Parliament pilot project to investigate several categories of consumer products and a platform to collect information from consumer organisations.
