And with more and more young Europeans demonstrating because they want a cleaner and liveable planet, the new European Commission, led by Ursula Von der Leyen, is becoming even more ambitious - setting its sights on making the EU the first climate-neutral continent by 2050.
The Commission is launching the European Green Deal - the Commission’s flagship initiative - packed with legislative proposals on how to achieve that goal.
