Dennis Lind has won the fourth edition of the Lamborghini World Final held on Valencia’s “Ricardo Tormo” circuit. The Dane of the team Raton Racing, aged 23, is the new European champion of the 2016 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo and the 2016 World Champion in the PRO category. The driver, at his debut in the one-make series for  Huracán Super Trofeos and member of the Young Drivers Program of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, has practically won everything.
He scored the win eight minutes from the end of Race 2, when the safety car entered the track, after he had managed to take the lead by overtaking Loris Spinelli. The latter was the author of the pole position with the car of the team Antonelli Motorsport and had been in the lead from the start. Lind secured the victory after finishing second behind Vito Postiglione in Race 1. This success allowed him to prevail over the Italian driver of Imperiale Racing (third place) by only two points.
The winners in the PRO-AM are Andrea Fontana and Lorenzo Veglia, with the colors of the team Antonelli Motorsport. The two drivers got a second place and a then a win scored in Race 2 ahead of Andrea Dovizioso, eighth overall.
Once again, the Ducati Factory Rider, at his debut in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, obtained an impressive result by getting to the podium for the second time this weekend, after winning Race 2 in Pro-Am class of the final round of the European series last Friday.
Double celebration for Adrian Amstutz: the driver of the team Bonaldi Motorsport, after winning the european title in the PRO-AM category together with the Finn Patrick Kujala, became world champion in the AM class by prevailing in both races of the World Final. In Race 2, the Swiss driver lost 3 positions under the rain and slipped fifth, but he then became the author of a comeback which enabled him to take the lead in the final stages of the race. Behind him finished  Nouri Shahin (Leipert Motorsport), who only managed to overtake Shota Abkhazava at the very last moment. The latter finished third but was the author of an excellent first “stint”, during which he succeeded in taking the lead with the car of Artline Team Georgia.
The American of  DXDT Racing, Ross Chouest , scored a double victory and got to the top step of the podium in both races and then he graduated world champion in the Lamborghini Cup, by preceding the Englishman Tim Richards (Toro Loco) and the Thai Supachai Weeraborwornpong (Siam Gas Racing Hong Kong, China) in Race 2.
The World Final of Valencia marked the conclusion of a successful season for the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, which set a record of 50 cars on the grid in last July’s round of Spa-Francorchamps. The next events will be held in 2017 and will include the three continental series Europe, Asia and North America, the Middle East series as well as the World Final, scheduled in November at Imola.
DRIVERS‘ QUOTES
Dennis Lind #60 - Raton Racing (European and world champion in the PRO category): “This was really a great end of the season. Despite the fact that Valencia’s races were very hard fought and difficult, I managed to conquer the European title and also won the World Final. I wish to thank Lamborghini and the team Raton Racing, which has really done a great job over the year and enabled me to achieve this result”.
Andrea Fontana #12 - Antonelli Motorsport (world champion in the PRO-AM category): “This weekend has started with some difficulties. But we have improved along the way. During Race 1 of the World Final, we got a good second place and today our goal was to get to the end without making a mess: we succeeded and earned this victory”.
Lorenzo Veglia #12 - Antonelli Motorsport (world champion in the PRO-AM category): “We were not expecting this victory because we had to fight to secure this result. Today’s race, under the rain, was really tough, but in the end, both Andrea Fontana and I handled it in the best way”.
Adrian Amstutz #34 - Bonaldi Motorsport (world champion in the AM category): “I’m really happy. Today there was the unknown factor of the rain, but in the end everything went perfectly.  I scored two wins, obtained the European title and now I’m also the world champion: it’s been really a fantastic season”.
Ross Chouest #103 - DXDT Racing (world champion in the Lamborghini Cup): “I’ve had a fantastic weekend. The team DXDT Racing has really done a great job. This is my first “title” in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo and l’ll surely participate again next year”.
Andrea Dovizioso #100 - Squadra Corse (second in the PRO-AM in Race 2): “It was a crazy race because it took place under a pouring rain which was a further new experience for me. Handling the situation wasn’t easy, especially at the beginning, because the visibility was very poor. I tried not to take too many risks and this paid off in the end. I’m very happy with how the weekend went in general”.
