Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2026 opens tomorrow with a 40 percent surge in visitor interest as it blends technology, trade, training and culture

Kuala Lumpur, 13 May 2026. The 15th edition of Automechanika Kuala Lumpur will open its doors tomorrow, welcoming the automotive and mobility community from 14 to 16 May at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). Spanning 12,500 sqm of exhibition space across Halls 1 to 6, the event is set to host 317 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions. As the premier platform for the ASEAN automotive industry, it arrives at a pivotal moment in the region’s accelerating automotive transformation, highlighting cutting-edge innovations across the entire supply chain, from OEM to the aftermarket for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles.

Strong surge in visitor interest and broad participation across the value chain

Reflecting ASEAN’s momentum, the show records a 40 percent increase in pre-registered visitors from last year. Professional buyers are expected to join from 57 countries and regions, such as Australia, Brunei, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and more. It also welcomes 11 local and overseas visitor delegations for business and networking.

Exploring market trends and business opportunities through concurrent events

The Automotive Mobility Solutions Conference returns with 21 speakers from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore to name a few. It features four panel discussions on the future of mobility and supply chain resilience while also delving into Asia’s automotive trends, spotlighting cross-border investment, localising innovation, and renewable energy. Highlighted speakers include:

Intelligent painting technology in practice

With education still a focus of the show, the Collision Repair Training Workshop addresses demand for technical expertise through two modules. Workshop A focuses on NEV repair, ADAS and sensors, as well as AI-enhanced diagnostics, while Workshop B explores body, paint, and auto refinishing solutions. More live demonstrations feature intelligent spray robotics from exhibitor X-trition, and other brands such as DMS, Glasurit, KOVAX, KJSC, Sagola and SATA. Carrying on the training, the Automotive Service Marketplace will feature car wrapping and detailing sessions.

Enhanced experiences at autoFEST@KL

This section of the show celebrates automotive culture, expanding its focus on interactive and engaging experiences. Here, immersive activities take place at the debut Green Studio; The Music Party sees boyband 3P and singer Layla Sania return; the Esports Challenge includes a time trial competition featuring professional racer, Leona Chin; and the customised cars and JDM & Classic Car Showcase features legacy vehicles from Honda, Nissan, and Subaru and over RM 1,000,000 worth of audio customised cars and motorcycles.

Beyond the high-octane displays, the Fengshui Masterclass, and nostalgic “Back to School” theme will engage participants with a range of interests across the value chain. In addition, attendees will have multiple opportunities to win prizes through daily lucky draws and interactive challenges.
