EPP Group backs climate neutral goal in European Green Deal

Release Date: 10 Dec 2019

The European Union has been leading the fight against climate change for some time now.

And with more and more young Europeans demonstrating because they want a cleaner and liveable planet, the new European Commission, led by Ursula Von der Leyen, is becoming even more ambitious - setting its sights on making the EU the first climate-neutral continent by 2050.

The Commission is launching the European Green Deal - the Commission’s flagship initiative - packed with legislative proposals on how to achieve that goal.

Esther de Lange, the EPP Group’s Vice President in charge of the economy and the environment, explained more.
