Staying In−The−Know When Traveling To America's Treasures

Release Date: 21 Apr 2016
ANCHOR LEAD: More and more people are planning trips to enjoy nature. Did you know there are 59 national parks across the United States? Brian Osuch finds out what they have to offer… (:60)

SCRIPT: Lifestyles, I'm Brian Osuch. A new AARP Travel Survey on National Parks finds 70% of adults have visited at least one national park and would recommend the trip to a friend. AARP Travel Ambassador, Samantha Brown says there's lots to do…

CUT: (Brown) Sightseeing is number one and for me that means people just want to be in the moment. You just want to recharge your own battery. Hiking is definitely number two on the list and just viewing wildlife.

SCRIPT: And if you really want to get to know a park, Brown recommends finding a park ranger…

CUT: (Brown) No one knows their park and has a passion for it like these people, so ask them. Ask them questions like, what part of the park do you think deserves love but doesn't get as much as it deserves? Where is that place?

SCRIPT: Brown says there is resource to help you along the way…

CUT: (Brown) Go to Travel.AARP.org, excellent destination guides with all the information from where to stay, what to do, how to enjoy, where to eat… always with an emphasis on saving money and having a great time.

SCRIPT: That website again, Travel.AARP.org. That's Lifestyles from AARP.
