Alvaro Rodriguez Fominaya, exhibitions' curator:

"This is the first large scale retrospective of artist Niki de Saint Phalle in over two decades. The exhibition includes close to 200 works from her earlier 1950's pieces until close to her moment of death in 2002. The exhibition includes from her shooting series, her "assemblages", her "nanas" –iconic representation of female models-, and also the exhibition includes her films and documents about her life. She was very politically involved through all her career: with AIDS, with gender equality, against the arms race… and we can see these political comments also shown in the exhibition"
