Interview in English with Team Brunel's navigator Jules Salter after breaking overall 24hr distance record on 25 May, Leg 9.
Dutch skipper Simeon Tienpont’s crew bested the existing record for a yacht competing in the Volvo Ocean Race, the 596.6 miles set by Torben Grael’s Ericsson 4 in the 2008-09 edition. Jules Salter was the navigator when they set this record too.
As of 1300 UTC, the team was still adding to their record-breaking 24-hour run of 601.63 miles at an average speed of 25.08 knots.
