Gerard de Rooy and the Iveco Powerstar at the Les Comes 4x4 Festival in Barcelona

Release Date: 18 Mar 2014
The Dutch truck racer Gerard de Rooy and his Iveco Powerstar were the stars of the Les Comes 4x4 Festival, Spain's largest rally for off-road aficionados, which was held in Barcelona last weekend. More than five thousand fans turned out to admire – in person and on the track – the Iveco vehicle that participated in the latest running of the world's most famous rally, Dakar 2014, finishing second overall.

The Festival's organisers included driver Pep Vila, who competed at Dakar 2014 for Team Iveco and came in a respectable 10th place on board an Iveco Trakker Evolution 2. The event was also attended by Nani Roma, Dakar 2014 champion in the car category. On track, De Rooy demonstrated the incredible performance that the vehicle is capable of, and he was one of the most applauded drivers by the audience.

This latest Les Comes 4x4 Festival consolidated its success by featuring more than 820 road vehicles, which had the opportunity to run on the 60 km of tracks and trails that characterise the Festival.
