Holland: A New Industrial Area, Three CASE Excavators At Work
An important jobsite: a new industrial area in Staphorst, in the North of Holland. Three CASE champions helping getting the job done. This is a success story. If we add an efficient dealer, Schmidt Bouwmaschines Almelo and a satisfied customer, Dunnewind Groep B.V., then the happy end is granted.
Dunnewind Groep B.V. is a large contractor working in earthmoving, demolition and transport. Their fleet is made up of 12 construction machines and approximately 30 trucks. They employ about 60 people and have their headquarters in Ommen and a branch in Olst. An innovative company trusting Case equipment’s cutting edge technology.
In October 2015, Dunnewind decided to buy the brand new CX300D (operating weight 30.5 tons and 207 hp) that joined the 2 units CX250C (operating weight 22.8 tons and 160 hp) already in their fleet.
Early January, all three machines went to work on an important project: the site preparation of the new industrial park “Oosterparallelweg” in Staphorst.
The work consists broadly of the site preparation of 170.000 m2 and the CASE excavators are presently getting the surface ready for construction and infrastructures (sewage, landfill and excavation of sites and roads and the installation of pavement).
CASE excavators have always been among the top sellers of the brand thanks to their great performances, reliability and precision. The new CX300D belongs to a brand new Series, launched at Intermat 2015, a Series that stand out for their productivity, fast cycles and efficiency.
The operators in the company all love their Case equipment and, when asked what they prefer in particular, they highlighted the strength and the controllability of CASE excavators.
The driver Gerwin Lamberink especially appreciates the lifting power and the comfortable cabin of his machine considering he has to work long hours.
The excavators are supplied with the CASE Intelligent Hydraulic System that includes a new electronically controlled hydraulic pump, a larger control valve and new solenoid valves to help boost breakout force, increase lifting strength and improve responsiveness, which enables the machine to work faster throughout the working cycle.
The owner of the Dunnewind Group (Edith Breemhaar-Dunnewind) highlights the fuel efficiency that allows her a remarkable saving on fuel and maintenance.
No surprise, as the high engine efficiency of the latest generation, electronically controlled, high pressure common rail with multi-injection ensures great performances and low fuel consumption. The engine is certified EU Stage IV and uses the maintenance-free SCR and DOC-only solution with no Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) or regeneration, resulting in maximum uptime and lower operating costs.
Also, the large AdBlue tank (just 1 refill every 5 refuelling stops, probably the largest in the industry) ensures a very high autonomy.
The D Series cab is another of the most appreciated features by operators and fleet owners. The cab is spacious and with an ergonomic seat. The workstation is fully adjustable and the high-back seat with air suspension gives an excellent comfort while the fully glazed area provides an excellent visibility, further increased by the standard rear view camera with optional side camera and the unique 178 mm LED monitor with continuous cooling and after-treatment systems that provides excellent rear visibility.
Also safety is key to CASE, and the cab is certified ROPS and FOPS level II providing an extra-safe working environment for the operator.
On top of all this, the machine is equipped with Leica GPS for even more accurate results.
Men at work. Efficiently and comfortably. That’s the Case excavator promise.
