Frankfurt, Germany, 27 February 2024: Genesis has partnered with Amazon to integrate the brand’s music streaming platform - Amazon Music – across the Genesis range1, allowing customers2 an additional way to enjoy in-car listening.
The collaboration marks the first time a streaming service has been made compatible with Genesis Connected Services (GCS), an application that hosts a range of on-board services such as live traffic information, dynamic charging stations, potential parking availability, online voice recognition and monitoring and controlling features of the car including running diagnostic tests, locking and unlocking of vehicles and displaying battery level3.
The process of setting up Amazon Music is simple, only requiring a registered user profile for Genesis Connected Services, the latest GCS update and an Amazon Music account. If all latest updates for Genesis Connected Services have been installed, which occur automatically via Genesis’ convenient Over-the-Air software update service, the Amazon Music App will appear on the main infotainment screen.
The app integrates seamlessly with the Genesis Audio Video Navigation. This enhances usability for easy-to-use app navigation whilst on the move, in addition to frequent synchronisation to ensure customers can access the most up-to-date music, audiobooks and podcasts complete with their respective artwork. Amazon Music offers the highest levels of customisation, where users can create playlists from a catalogue of 100 million songs, listen to music stations, as well as receive personalised recommendations based on listening habits.
To activate Amazon Music, customers simply open the GCS App, click through to Personal Services followed by Music Streaming Service, then tap the “Add” button. From there, it will be possible to login to an existing Amazon account or create a new account. The user will then receive an SMS or email verification, press the “Allow” button and the activation service will be complete.
