A month and a half after the Spa event, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe will be back on track this weekend, on September 15-16. The German circuit of the Nürburgring will host the fifth of the six double rounds of the one-make series reserved for the cars of the House of Sant'Agata Bolognese. With a situation of "balance" in all four classes, the continental series will seek new protagonists in Germany, prior to the final round taking place at Vallelunga in the same week as the 2018 World Final.

In the PRO class, Karol Basz and Vito Postiglione are leading the standings by only four points. In Belgium, the duo of Imperiale Racing (three victories to their credit) jumped to the top of the classification, taking over from Giacomo Altoè. The young driver of the Antonelli Motorsport team has so far scored two victories, one of which with Daniel Zampieri, with whom he will continue to share the car cockpit. After breaking the ice at Spa, by taking their first win of the season, James Pull and Kelvin Snoeks (Bonaldi Motorsport)  joined the list of protagonists and are now occupying third place in the championship at 21 points from the top. Immediately behind is the other pair of  Antonelli Motorsport formed by Joffrey De Narda and Kikko Galbiati, who have already taken to the podium three times and will now try to score their first victory. Patrick Kujala-Fredrik Blomstedt (Bonaldi Motorsport) and Felipe Ortiz-Tuomas Tujula (VS Racing) have so far taken a win each.

The games are still open also in the PRO-AM category. Ahead of everyone is the crew of the Antonelli Motorsport team composed of Juan Perez and Loris Spinelli, who have secured a poker of victories. But the double podiums scored at Spa, which followed the win taken at Misano with one of the two Huracán Super Trofeos of Iron Lynx, allowed Lorenzo Bontempelli and Emanuele Zonzini to recover important points and reduce to only eight points the disadvantage against the leading duo. These pairs have so far scored a win each in the same category: Takashi Kasai and Philipp Wlazik (VS Racing), John-Louis Jasper and Pavel Lefterov (Leipert Motorsport) as well as the Scandinavian duo of the Target Racing team formed by the 2016 PRO champion Dennis Lind and the young "rookie" Simon Larsson. The "lady" driver Carrie Schreiner and Fabian Vettel, brother of the F.1 driver Sebastian, will race on their home circuit and share the cockpit of a Lamborghini of the Konrad Motorsport team.

In the AM, Andrej Lewandowski has scored four victories with the American August MacBeth and has missed the podium only on one occasion. The Pole of VS Racing is leading the standings with an advantage of 17 points against the German pair of the Dörr Motorsport team formed by Florian Scholze and Manuel Lauck. Glauco Solieri, who scored a win at Misano with the Antonelli Motorsport team, will also fight for victory. The same applies for Mirko Konopka (ARC Bratislava) and Raffaele Giannoni; the Italian driver of Automobile Tricolore monopolized the first round at Monza and will now aim at the top spot.

In the Lamborghini Cup, Joseph Collado (AGS Events) is certainly taking things seriously. In Belgium, he scored his fourth victory of the season and recovered important points over the classification leader Gerard Van der Horst (Van der Horst Motorsport), who boasts two wins and has an advantage of only nine points. Supachai Weeraborwornpong (Team Lazarus) and Willian Van Deyzen, Van der Horst’s teammate, have scored a victory each and are now respectively third and fourth and still fighting for the classification lead.

The two usual one-hour free practice sessions will inaugurate the weekend at the Nürburgring on Friday. On Saturday, the two 20-minute qualifying sessions will start at 10:30 a.m. CEST, while the first of the two fifty-minute races, with a rolling start and mandatory pit-stop, is scheduled for 3:35 p.m. CEST. Lastly, Race 2 will kick off on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CEST.

Both races can be followed in live streaming on the internet website squadracorse.lamborghini.com/live-streaming and on the Lamborghini Squadra Corse Facebook page www.facebook.com/LamborghiniSquadraCorse.
