The new head of a European Parliament special committee probing the Panama Papers scandal says he aims in part to address public outrage – expressed for example in the recent Brexit referendum – against tax evasion by the "moneyed elite". The EPP Group´s Werner Langen, elected to chair the committee, says he hopes the panel will complete the probe and propose action within their 12-month mandate, but that it is "not a lot of time" and could be extended.
