Something is Happening at SEAT

Release Date: 01 Mar 2017

Martorell, 01/03/2017. –SEAT is taking full advantage of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) to strengthen its partnerships with political institutions and other companies. Since the Congress began, politicians including the President of Catalonia's Government Carles Puigdemont, Spanish Energy Minister Álvaro Nadal, and Second Deputy Mayor of Barcelona Jaume Collboni have paid a visit to the company's stand to learn about the novelties that SEAT is presenting at the world's largest technological showcase.

In addition, brand executives have also met with other authorities and officials, such as Israeli Ambassador to Spain Daniel Kutner; the Catalan minister for Business and Knowledge Jordi Baiget and Internal Affairs minister Jordi Jané, and Fira de Barcelona managing director Constantí Serrallonga.

Companies such as Saba, Gett, Waze, RACC or Barcelona Tech City got a first-hand look at SEAT's vision for the future of the connected car. This vision, which the company is staging with an impressive simulator, includes services and functions that shape a new driving experience, with several possibilities for interaction between the driver, the car and their environment. SEAT President Luca de Meo also announced that many of these innovations will be added to the brand's vehicles starting in 2018 and 2019. SEAT visited also companies such as Vodafone, Qualcomm or Mobile World Capital Barcelona.

Several experts in the field of connectivity, the automotive business and mobility have led discussions and delivered presentations in the SEAT Talks area of the stand, including Volkswagen AG Chief Digital Officer Johann Jungwirth and consultant and co-founder of BlaBlaCar Vicent Rosso, as well as the members of SEAT's Easy Mobility Team.

Alongside the simulator and the SEAT ID, which is the gateway to the brand's digital ecosystem, the stand also features the eMii prototype, the electric car being used by SEAT to promote a carsharing pilot project for employees of Metropolis:Lab Barcelona and Pier01.

An exciting "Entrepreneurs Day" is taking shape tomorrow, Thursday, where the start-ups that are participating in the SEAT Accelerator by Conector programme will be presenting new developments in their projects. SEAT's digital and connected roll-out at the Mobile World Congress is completed with a dedicated space in the 4 Years From Now (4YFN), the brand's participation at the Youth Mobile Festival (YOMO) side event and company presence at the stand of mobile payment solution specialist Sunhill, which is showing how its Travipay parking system operates.
